Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) Case Study

ISSUE: A major aerospace manufacturer was using an Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) system in the manufacture of aerospace parts. Their EDM filtration system, however, was a source of constant hassle. The filters were proving messy and difficult to change, and the whole system was taking entirely too much time to manage.

SOLUTION: When they bought a new EDM system, they also purchased a Como EDM Model 210 filtration system. Over the next few years, the company realized Como EDM system kept the oil much cleaner, resulting in faster burn rates. The Como filters held more contamination, and were cleaner and easier to change then the existing filters. They are now in the process of changing all of their EDM filtration systems to Como 210 systems.
